Tesla Introduces New Feature Allowing Wives to Honk Horn from Their Phones When It's Time to Go
"People want to eliminate inconveniences from their daily lives," stated Tesla spokesperson Wilhelm Grasseter. "With our new ‘Wife App,' husbands will receive a timely reminder that it's time to stop chatting with whomever they’ve been talking to. No longer will husbands have to wait for one of those telling looks from their wives; their cars can do this for them."
Initially available only for Tesla's Model S, Grasseter confirmed that the feature will soon expand to include the Model 3, Model X, and Model Y. "If you’re married to someone who always wants to steer you in a certain direction, the Wife App is designed specifically for you," he explained. "Whether you’re chatting with friends, talking to your kid’s little league coach, or having a conversation with that sketchy guy who sells you weed, the Wife App allows your spouse to communicate exactly what they need—without the hassle of actual conversation."
Early indicators suggest that the feature is gaining popularity among customers, although many husbands who own Teslas are likely to either forget to download the app or delete it almost immediately.
At publication time, Tesla confirmed that the Wife App is incompatible with steering wheels.
