Haley Campaign Reacts to Losing Non-Binding Nevada Primary to "None of These Candidates"
SPARTANBURG, SC - Nikki Haley, the former Governor of South Carolina, made a strong showing in the non-binding Nevada primary despite losing to an option labeled "none of these candidates."
"Even Donald Trump knows that when you play penny slots the house wins. We didn't bother to play a game rigged for Trump. We're full steam ahead in South Carolina and beyond," Haley campaign spokesperson Olivia Perez-Cubas said. "Some states, like Nevada, allow voters to choose 'none of these candidates,' but they don't have that option in real, binding elections. We're confident that voters at that time will choose Nikki Haley."
Haley was uniquely positioned at the only major candidate at the time the primary was held, with the other top-tier Republican candidates waiting to participate in party-run caucuses that would actually award delegates.
"We have not spent a dime nor an ounce of energy on Nevada. We aren't going to pay $55,000 to a Trump entity to participate in a process that is rigged for Trump. Nevada is not and has never been our focus. I'm truly not sure what the Trump team is up to out there, but they seem pretty spun up about it," Haley's campaign manager Betsy Ankney said during a press call on Monday.
At publishing time, Haley's campaign had also lost a Twitter poll to "none of these candidates" as well.
