SAN MATEO, CA — The coffee industry is abuzz with excitement as a group of former xBloom engineers, laid off just two weeks ago, have banded together to form a new startup called xBlossom.

Sources confirm the brewing system works the same way as the xBloom, but for tea. "We gathered at a local coffee bar, somewhat dejected over the layoffs, but someone had the idea of building a version for tea," says former xBloom engineer Sam Tang. "It was such an obvious step for us to take, we couldn't believe we hadn't thought of it sooner. Well, better late than never!"

xBlossom gently grinds and brews tea leaves in a similar way to xBloom, but instead pours into a dainty tea cup. "Once you've had xBlossom-brewed tea, you'll never use a simple kettle again," says Tang.

When asked if the lawsuit filed by their former employers would be a hindrance, Mr. Tang laughed. "You mean that stack of paper we use to brew our tea? No, that hasn't been an issue so far."

At publishing time, xBlossom had announced a Quiznos partnership where they would have their systems installed in eleven stores by year's end.
