Excitement For Upcoming Oasis Tour Dampened By Existence Of The Band Oasis
LONDON — Excitement for a much-anticipated reunion tour by the legendary band Oasis was quickly dampened by the fact that the performances would feature the band Oasis, sources in the U.K. and around the world confirmed.
While it had been widely known that the group had reunited after breaking up in 2009, many were caught off-guard by the fact that an Oasis tour would be so heavily impacted by its being centered around Oasis.
"It's a bit of a buzzkill, to be honest," said one Oasis fan. "I was so excited to have them back together that the thought of actually seeing and hearing Oasis never entered my mind. Now that I've had time to think about it, I don't know if I'll even buy a ticket."
Ticket sales for the band, best known for saying the word "shine" over ten million times in one song, suffered even more due to exorbitant prices.
"You're asking an audience to shell out several times the cost of a normal concert and, on top of that, you're making them listen to Oasis," said one concert promoter. "It's going to be a rough sell."
Despite poor sales, band frontman Liam Gallagher seemed unbothered. "Our music is nothing short of pure genius," he said in between huge snorts of cocaine. "I am a god, as well as my brother. We've always known this."
At publishing time, ticket sales reports were slightly improving after word spread that Oasis might break up again mid-tour due to the Gallagher brothers fighting.
